Many of our visitors want to know who will win the game or how we can improve their process, not how or why teams perform as they do or how we made the calculations. Therefore, we will not discuss applied mathematics or computer programs so we do not hear the sound of thousands of web browsers clicking away. Our consulting clients need the statistics, mathematics and programs and we will discover the root cause of your success (or lack thereof). The team members and techniques are yours. For our customers who want to know, the Six Sigma method is briefly outlined below:
The Six Sigma method uses detailed steps to find the solution. For an on-going process (football, credit card processing, pizza making) the technique is called DMAIC. To create a new process (precise predictions, "green field" development) the technique is called DMADV.
We use both processes and each consists of five basic steps. Used to improve, DMAIC is Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control. Used to design, DMADV is Define, Measure, Analyze, Design, Verify.
